It’s been 6 months since I last touched my Naukri profile after getting an opportunity. I got a notification and just opened the Naukri app, and this is what I found—my profile activity is still this HIGHHH.

I felt like sharing some of my insights, which might help people who are looking for internships or jobs.

It’s not just one way—you searching for jobs and applying. Recruiters are also searching for candidates and interviewing them. Even then, we should appear on top. This is where most candidates fail to show up.

Below is the way I follow for myself. If you like, you can give it a try:

1. Disclaimer! The first thing—you must have skills. This is the most important step.
2. You should fix a single role that is perfect for your skills.
3. Create a highly discoverable resume for your role.
4. Check the job descriptions (JDs) for that role across all job platforms, up to 20, and understand the skills and qualifications required for that role.
5.  List the most frequently mentioned skills from all the job posts and update them in your resume. If you already have that skill, learn more about it. If you don’t, start learning it.
6. The game is all about relevance—use relevant experience, relevant skills, and relevant keywords in your resume. This helps you appear in recruiter searches.
7. Now set up your job platform profiles. Update your resume and include all the important details. You'll start appearing to recruiters.
